My mother grew up in La Paz, Bolivia, and my father in San Juan, Puerto Rico. My father moved to the U.S. in his late teens and my mother was only nineteen when she decided to start her life in the U.S. My mom has always been passionate about learning and from a young age, she has always encouraged me to want to learn more and the importance of an education. My father did not have much support growing up, so he has been my anchor and pushed me to strive for more.
They both defied the odds of fluently learning English and overcoming economic hardships.

I am currently a sophomore at Presbyterian College and a 1st generation student pursuing a Bachelor's in Biology with aspirations of attending PA school.

My reasons for always valuing kindness, intelligence, and understanding others are because of my parents.
